Description:
Laura has returned to work at Morris and Wood after her maternity leave, only to discover that the woman she brought in to cover for her isn’t planning on going anywhere. Despite her close relationship with the agency’s powerful CEO, Harry Wood, she feels sidelined—and outmaneuvered—as she struggles to balance the twin demands of work and motherhood.
Mia was only supposed to be a temporary hire at Morris and Wood, but she’s managed to make herself indispensable to everyone. Everyone, that is, except Laura. If people only knew why she was so desperate to keep her job, they might not want her to stay.
Janie gave up everything to support her husband and the successful agency he runs. But she has her own dark secret to protect…and will go to any lengths to keep it safe.
With signature prose lauded as “breathtaking” and “bone-chilling” by USA TODAY bestselling author Cristina Alger and plenty of shocking twists and turns, Three Perfect Liars is an unputdownable thriller for fans of Watching You and The Couple Next Door.
Adele’s Review:
I enjoyed reading Three Perfect Liars during the 2020 pandemic and got hooked from Chapter One. I originally posted my review to NetGalley and my author blog, but decided to repost it here for those who might have missed it the first time. Three Perfect Liars is wholly original and unique, and I found that to be a refreshing change from the usual thriller tropes.
Laura returns to work after maternity leave to discover that the temp filling in for her has been made permanent and taken away her job. Laura is left in office limbo, but can’t quit the company since she’s the sole provider for her family. I empathized with Laura and found myself becoming angry on her behalf. Her stay at home husband, Nate, vacillated between the role of supportive stay at home dad and harried nag. Laura seemed to be alone in her struggle and I shared her frustration.
The writing and construction of this novel is top notch and well done. I would have liked an ending with more punch, especially after all the angst among the cast of characters and the build up to the conclusion. I felt the confrontations needed to be more explosive. However, Three Perfect Liars is the second book by Heidi Perks I’ve read for review, and both books were outstanding. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Many thanks to Gallery Books and NetGalley for providing an ARC to read and review.
